The Gift of Qurbani….



Qurbani food kits were distributed in 550 villages of 12 States, total 330,000 got benefitted

Rehab India Foundation‘s commitment to bring happiness and improve the quality of life of people from all community is unfettered. Thus multiple initiatives by Rehab are helping the society to meet the goal of holistic development. Rehab always tries to bring harmony and celebration during festivals and other auspicious occasion in the life of underprivileged people of the society.

During Bakra-Eid 2013, Rehab India Foundation distributed Qurbani food kits containing a total of 85000 kg of meat among poor villagers. Rehab celebrated Eid with joy & gaiety in twelve States of India namely Assam, West Bengal, Manipur, Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan with 60,000 families.

The recent event in Muzaffarnagar has created an environment of displeasure and horror. Keeping this in mind, Rehab India Foundation tried to work with the affected people of Muzaffarnagar and help them rehabilitate into their normal life. The Rehab team visited refugee camps such as Jola, Lay, Monsora, and Karana and  qurbani kits were distributed among 2100 riot affected families sheltering in the above camps. The Volunteers of Rehab visited camps and tried to pacify the people living in the camps. It is always hard to celebrate after loss of life and unfortunate events but Rehab tried to bring smiles on faces of people who were hardly getting enough food to eat.

On this auspicious occasion, General Secretary of Rehab Afsel Chandrakandy said, “Same as last year, we planned to celebrate this Eid with masses who hardly enjoy good food on festivals. We made this achievable with the overwhelming support of our donors and well wishers. This time, we distributed food kits among 60,000 families scattered in 550 villages. Total, 330,000 poor and deserving got benefitted from this noble initiative.”

HEALTH & HYGENIE AWARENESS PROGRAMME AT ASSAM:



Personal health & hygiene initiatives for women and children were started in the campus of Rehab Model Village on Oct 13, 2013.

Mr. Rajab Ali, Pharmacist Rehab India Foundation said Poor hygiene and health practices restrict the socio-economic, psychological and health wellbeing of women so they should take care of personal hygiene and health. He advised to take healthy diet rich in protein, vitamins and essential minerals. He also discussed the diseases caused by unclean or contaminated water.

Mr. Rahman, field officer of Rehab trained children to adopt clean habits. He said them to brush teeth twice, cut nails weekly and wash hands before having meal and coming from toilet.

76 participants; 48 women and 28 children participated and all beneficiaries were from Rehab Model Village & 3 No. Nachunguri village.



Parents Meet at Joyma Camp


Rehab India Foundation structured Parents Meet for the parents of Rehab’s tuition center students at Joyma Camp in Kokrajhar District, Assam on Oct 11-2013.

The program was arranged by Mr. Saravana Kumar Project Manager and Mr. Saudagar Field Officer & student of Rehab MSW Scholarship Programme.

Different Topics were discussed by Project Manager, Filed Officer, and Community Teachers motivating Parents to ensure 100% education in the Village.

Mr. Sarvana Kumar requested Parents to send all their Children to School and ensure 0% drop-out among School going children. After that, Mr. Soudagar gave details of different objectives of Rehab India Foundation and community teachers   forwarded dialogues on importance of education for getting good employment opportunities in future.

Teachers Training Programme:



Andhra Pradesh: To build the capacity of teachers, Rehab India Foundation conducted Teachers Meet/Teachers Training Programme at Nizamudheen Colony, Andhra Pradesh on August 30, 2013.

All the teachers from different community centres; Nandavaram,Nizamudheen Colony, Hologunda and Nandamuri Nagar of Rehab were invited to attend the programme. Total, ten teachers enthusiastically participated. The class was taken by Mr. Hassan Shaik who delivered lecture on ‘Learning Disability.




Parents meet:



 Andhra Pradesh, Oct 02, 2013: “This is the first time since the community
centre established, we organized parents meet at Nizamudheen Community Centre” said Insafudheen Soth Zone Project Manager.

Session was led by Mr. Khalee Ahmad. He described the role of parents for encouraging children to acquire higher education.
Eighty parents attended the programme. They actively participated in the discussions and some students shared their experiences that what they want to become in future.

Although the event was organized first time in the village, yet we received good remark from parents. Some parents suggested to organize weekly literary classes so that they can contribute maximum to build the capacity of their kids.
