Rehab India Foundation inaugurated MSW Scholarship Programme on 27th
August 2012 at Rehab Head Office, New Delhi.
Muhammad Jabir, Project Coordinator of MSW Programme said, “For the
programme, we have shortlisted six students from West Bengal, Manipur, Assam
and Bihar. Full course fee of IGNOU MSW Programme has been paid by Rehab.” He
also told that every month students have
six days coaching classes; IGNOU Contact Classes, Internal Academic Classes,
Spoken English and Skill Development Training, Field Visit, Observational
Visits, Discussions, and Assignments.
First session was
kicked off in late August and second session initiated on 7th Oct
2012. During the second session, students surveyed Dhobighat Slum near Batla
House and identified the basic problems of people. Students prepared the report
with relevant photographs and submitted to the project Coordinator.
In addition, students visited an NGO
titled Development Labs, Hauz Khas, New Delhi. Here discussion was held over
the functioning of non-profit organization. They were told what is the difference
between NGO and Trust, how to design project and do budgeting etc.
In a nutshell, students were
motivated and wanted to involve in more practical activities. Also, they gave
their inputs for different livelihood projects.
